ABSTRACT
Lipoma arborescense (LA) is a rare condition most commonly associated with painless swelling and limitation of motion in the knee joint. Although etiology is unknown, recurrent minor trauma and inflammatory pathologies are likely to be present. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the gold standard in diagnosis, ultrasonographic appearance has an important role in distinguishing it from other inflammatory processes. This case report highlights the rare prevalent LA that can easily interfere with other inflammatory pathologies and shows that ultrasonographic appearance is as valuable as MRI findings in the diagnosis.
